Spray Booth Roof Filters: Roof Inlet and Ceiling Filters

Roof inlet filters are the spray booth intake filters that sit in the ceiling and clean the air on its way in. Our ULTIMATE EU5 media keeps dust out of the cabin before it lands in a fresh coat, and pairs with the floor exhaust filters in the pit.

Total Spraybooth Care stocks ULTIMATE EU5 roof inlet media two ways: a 4 pack for a full roof change, or a single pad for a quick top up. Both ship Australia wide, and metro orders usually land within one to three business days.

How it works

What a spray booth intake filter does

Air comes into the booth through the roof, passes the inlet filters in the ceiling, moves down past the vehicle and leaves through the floor. The inlet filter is what keeps workshop dust out of the cabin before it lands in a fresh coat. EU5 uses a progressive density fibre structure to trap finer particles before they reach the job, which helps reduce surface nibs and gives painters a cleaner starting point for every job.

Inlet filters are one half of the system. The other half is the floor exhaust filters in the pit, which catch overspray on the way out. Many shops match an inlet change with a fresh exhaust filter for the best airflow balance.

Filter media

EU5 inlet filters: full roof pack or single pad

Both options use the same EU5 media. A PE mesh keeps the mat flat, tight and effective across its whole life, even through high temperature bake sessions, so it resists sagging on heavy spray days.

Full roof change

ULTIMATE EU5 4 pack

Four mats for a full roof change out that restores clean airflow and cuts the dust landing in fresh coats. Many workshops keep a pack on the shelf and swap panels as they need them.

Quick top up

ULTIMATE EU5 single pad

One panel for when a section collapses, when a painter notices dust drifting in from a corner, or for a smaller booth. Mixing old and new panels is fine as long as the frame sizes match and the rest are still holding shape.

Fitting new frames as well? The roof filter frame with swing tabs makes installation quick and secure, and comes in quantities of 10 or 20, with or without bolts.

Fitment

Spray booth inlet filter sizes

Measure the opening of your roof inlet frame and match the closest size. Many booths follow Lowbake style dimensions, and measuring the visible frame opening is the safest way to confirm the fit.

Older or non standard frame? EU5 can be trimmed slightly: use a sharp blade and trim around the outer edge. If you are not sure what is in the ceiling, call us with the frame measurement and we will tell you which size fits.

Changeouts

When to change spray booth roof filters

Replace inlet panels when you see dust spotting, sagging or a drop in cabin cleanliness, even if airflow still feels strong. Busy shops often replace panels every one to two months, depending on workload. Plan a full roof change when sagging shows across more than one section.

If your booth has a pressure gauge, the spray booth airflow and pressure guide covers the intake side: loaded inlet filters cut supply and pull the booth negative. If the reading has moved and the exhaust filters look clean, check the roof inlet filters before you suspect the fan.

Dust in the finish

Nibs in the clear coat, or painters noticing dust in one corner.

Sagging panels

A section that has dropped in the frame is loading up.

Uneven airflow

Inconsistent finishes late in the week are an early sign.

Compatibility

Booth brands these ceiling filters fit

EU5 roof inlet mats are widely used in Lowbake booths and are also supplied for many other spray booth brands across Australia. If your booth uses a similar roof inlet frame, EU5 will usually fit once the size is matched.
